Increase Airflow in Mirage

so what is happening, is the gpu is splitting the case in two, so the airflow coming in from the 120mm front fan is being chanelled under the gpu and not enough cool air is getting into the rest of the case

if that is the "case" then you would need to increase the airflow above the gpu so it can feed the cpu fan, this could be achieved by the kama bay and a decent 120 mm fan

It just doesnt sound right to me maybe a lot of heats coming off the
heatpipe like he said and not being exhausted by the psu and rear extraction.
ANd 65c full load in his 900 is a poor temp to get from a ninja.
Other ninja and tuniq tower owners without this many fans with those big cards
are getting -40c idle and 50-55 full load and that's in a lian li pc7+.

Im also getting the same problem. Mine is running at 45. X6800. I have a Eclipse 62, BFG8800GTX, Sytche Ninja. The Heatsink fan is running at 876rpm. I have just ordered the Zalman 9700 in hope for improved temp and also a Antec Super Cyclone Blower. Any ideas? Stupid 8800GTX :p

All out of idea's just find it puzzling the countless people
with ninja coolers 8800gtx and lian li pc7+ or other cases with 2 fans
are not getting these high temps. If this is the case pardon the pun
i too will be getting shot of mine when i upgrade and overclock next month.
I only got this case on the recommendation of people on here.
Seems like the perfect case then is something like an antec 900 but with more room and better cable management.

Antec 900 *puke* Fantastic cooling but the cable management is utterly TERRIBLE! ;)

I love the Eclipse but im not loving it at the moment? Before i had Lian Li PC7 with the same fans but a X1800XT running at 26c idle and 32 full load. If only the GTX could run at 20c instead of 65c :o

geff_r...I aint here to debait why my CPU temps are high...Im here to get ideas how to improve my case temps. A lot of the Conroe CPU's come with high temps...im reading about more all the time. They are fine at stock...but as soon as you raise the voltage slighly....the temps shoot up.

What i am trying to resolve is why the change of case has given me a temp rise of about 7-10 degrees. To me...the airflow is not very good in this case with my arrangement/setup. When I take the side panel off...then temps go down about 7degrees.....which instatly tells me that the CPU and heatsink isnt getting enough cool air. When I stick my hand beside the CPU cooler...sleint cooling system on the board and RAM...there is a a lot of heat build up...simple as that. The case is fairly tidy..so airflow shouldnt be a problem.

Maybe something like the Kama bay will help

I think maybe a cpu cooler with fan pointing and blowing air onto the top of the heatsink and bridge area might improve things maybe the heat coming from the bridge is going onto the ninja heatsink.
And or change the fan on the ninja i hear certain fans dont work so well on the ninja.

all i can say is , the cpu fan is relying on air in the top compartment and it is pulling air from the front of the case, which has your cables and disc drives, cant imagine it having a good air flow from the front panel from there

as the front fan is cooling over the hardrives and probably helping cool your gpu, but very little from that point, the exhaust fan is working with your cpu fan, but if the cpu fan hasn't got enough air to pull in, or clean air then it cannot do its job properly imho..

not sure if that foam is helping either

i had a similar problem with my aspire x crusier case

Toxic, I dont think the stock fan on the Ninja really helps with the airflow. I have had my hand on the inlet side of it and cannot feel any great airflow whereas with the 38mm fans you can really feel it sucking the air in. I dont know if its possible to mount a 38mm fan using those clips but I will give it a try.
I looked at the Kama Bay and it would work well as long as you only have 1 drive in the 5.25 bays as it looks like it takes up 3 of the bays.

would assume everyone's temp would notice a slight decrease if you take side panel off ass fresh air no longer funelled by the front fan air with circulate better around component with panel off.is the fan on ninja adjustable? maybe increase it speed? maybe setting case fan's to maximum?

i only have one dvd drive and 1 hdd perhap's this why my temp are lower as i have less air impediment.try taking off the blanking plate's off all the dvd drive to promote more air into upper cpu case area?.

I to am a little dissapointed with the cooling in the Akasa Mirage. I find that it does struggle to remove the heat around the cpu area. I currently have a panaflo 38mm fan on the intake which seems to push air through a lot better than the 25mm fans so I might get one for the exhaust as well.
I am hoping to go watercooling at some point so this case was still worth it.
25mm fan exhaust? that would be your problem, its built to have 120mm fans

Best bet is to add a decent quietish additional front intake and cut out a top exhaust probably.Or sell it and get one of those stackers with the 9 120mm fans.My eclipse cost me £78 so i will mod mine when i get your kind of setup.
No big deal only £78 if i mess it up.The antec 900 is good but too small and awkward for me if the cooling is this bad with that setup you have i regret buying this case should have got a stacker or saved a bit for the silverstone tj09.

i think the kama bay...or modding the case is required. Ive backed off the CPU to 3.2Gz which keeps the temps mid 60 when gaming etc. so isnt too bad....I just liked it being at 3.5-3.6 all the time. Like said...the Antec was just too small for me and too dusty also. The Eclipse...I love....i just want more air!
