** INFINITY SERIES OF HIGH END SYSTEMS - INSPIRED BY 8PACK **

I've decided that I'll construct your system myself, we have a brand new (finished today) area just for myself and 8pack to develop systems, so this will be the christening :D No doubt 8Pack will have his input as always, especially on the RAM tweaking.

Also, if you are happy to allow us, we would like to turn this build into a build log for the forums and we'll get our resident photographer to take many good pictures. Is that OK with you?

ScottiB that's awesome. I'd be honoured if you were able to put it to good use as a build log and show everyone how it's done. It's great that you guys are so active on the forums and able to answer people's questions and give feedback. It's really appreciated.

I've got no problems at all with you guys using it for pics and anything else you need. Will help me kill time at work this next week as time's clearly going to drag massively while i'm waiting for this beast to arrive!

Thanks for your comments about RAIDing the SSD's as well by the way

Even more excited now!

Cheers

Mike

Well - there you go Mike - ScottiB building your system.!
Really want to see it now. Just wanted to say thanks for your earlier comments - its a big decision from me to spend the big cash with a company I've not had any dealings with before - and I feel much more confident now - hearing your praise for these guys and how happy you've been with your previous system from them.
I have made up my mind and going to order up a 'Quasar' next week when I get some time. Going to go for the Full Quasar build but with 780's. This will basically be the same as yours - (except taller :D ).! Getting excited myself and also feel like the next couple of weeks are going to drag in.!
Best of Luck Mate.!

Awesome. Everyone i've dealt with so far has been really helpful and it's great that people are active on the forums and willing to have conversations. Don't think you'll regret the system once you get it. You checked out any of the other build logs they've done? There was a decent article on bit-tech a few weeks ago as well with an interview of 8-pack talking about the system building they do

Cheers - checked out the link and have checked out some of the build logs.
The workmanship looks fantastic - some serious time and effort going in there.
Very excited about my build - think I'll need to book off work for a month and lose myself in Battlefield 4.!
Was reading some other threads on your build and loved the one where you got an itemised bill of the build - minus the water cooling of course.!
I'm with you - of course it costs more to buy rather than build - but look at the quality - the effort and experience that goes in to it to provide a top line system.

Well I have taken the plunge - ordered a 'Quasar' today.
Changed out the Titans for 780's and added a Asus Xonar Phoebus and Blu Ray Drive.
Seriously excited and cant wait for next week.!!! :):)

Ah awesome, nice one Karbon. I've been in touch with ScottiB over my tesseract and i'm looking forward to that too. Which games you going to fire up on it?

What monitor setup are you currently using by the way? I added another monitor to my order so i can mess around with 3 screens

Upgrading everything this time around - so i've ordered a BenQ XL2420T revision 2 144hz number.
Really want the response times for gaming + there is a deal on them atm.
Will be glued to battlefield 4 for sure.
3 screens should be awesome - certainly got the power to drive that set up now.!
Think i'm going to wait and see what happens over the next wee while with G-Sync from NVidia before trying something similar.
You cant have long now to wait.?

Busy at work all this week so i'll sort delivery for some time next week. Keep tweaking it but the customer service guys have been great so far. Not sure if i'm going to end up getting a separate sound card or just harvesting the one from my old setup

The titan's are £1050 each and the 780's are £670 each.
Comes to a reduction of £760. The 780's are Overclocked and probably can give approx 85 to 90% of the Titan's performance in most applications - but at a far more sensible price.
Titan's are fantastic cards but i felt that the 780's gave me the performance that i needed at the right price.
If you are considering something similar - give the tech guys a call - they are very helpful.

That'd bring a Quasar down to £3350, then.

It's good to see you can discuss custom options for these builds; there's always something you want to change. With me and the Tesseract (if I get one) it would actually be the case - I'd have to completely rearrange my furniture to fit the Carbide 540 in, and I also watch movies on my PC so having the optical drive upright doesn't really work for me. I'd much rather have the Obsidian that the Quasar uses.

It would also be nice if the colour of the Mayhems solution could be chosen as an up front option. Orange doesn't go with everything. :D

if you want a different colour scheme, we can do that....if you want a different board to match the colour scheme (assuming it's one that we approve and will fit), we can do that too.

As I've said before, we are flexible...We just don't want to offer too many options up front.

Want Purple monsoon fittings with UV Pink Fluid? We'll think you are a bit strange but we can do it :p

The case was one of the issues with me. I prefer the standard full tower of the 750D - to the cube style of the Tesseract. So i have basically built a Tesseract in a Quasar's case.
I modified just a little but i have to say the rest of the components which were in the original Quasar build were were spot on. The guys couldn't of been more helpful when it came to spec.-ing up my build.
I am putting a bit of trust in these guys - as i haven't seen a picture yet ( Black + White colour scheme i understand )- but i'm sure it will be fine. Going by other comments and other build pictures - the workmanship looks second to none - so i suppose it will just be more of a surprise when i open the box next week.!!::eek:;)

Think ScottiB's assembling mine today Karbon. I'm really excited to see how it turns out. The case on yours is really nice but i liked the look of the carbide and i think i'm going to end up having it sat on my desk with my monitors and the cube will probably fit a little better.

Yeah he's started posting some pics in the OCuk build log sub forum. It's being air tested at the mo before all the fun watercooling starts :D

here you go

we've got a lot on today thanks to a big stock take this weekend and the need to ship out three 8Pack systems, so I'll probably start the watercooling on Monday, or maybe Sunday in between stock counts.

You'll have to forgive the dodgy photos, our resident photographer was in a car accident this morning so he'll be off for a few days.

Sweet trampolining Jesus, three people have bought one?

I wish I had their money, I can tell you.

Ahh its taking shape Mike and looking good.! Its a great thing to see your system being built + a nice touch - just wish I had a little sneak peak at mine also - to see its progress.
Think they should add this to the drop down option list for your system - "Photographic Build Log" .!!:D
