Inheritance....what should I do with it?

Depends one the amount.

Flats in East london are a good buy at the moment, you can get a new build 2 bed 2 bath for £190k which rent for £1000 to £1100 per month.

75% BTL mortgage so you put down about £50k each.

If you have any mortgage to pay off then do that. Pointless putting it in an ISA as the rates are so low- you'll be better off clearing any debt. If you're mortgage free then clearly heroin and hookers.

My vote goes for not finding reasons to spend it just because you have it. Bung it in the bank, then when you think of something you need - just get it without worrying about money.

Really hard to give suggestions without knowing roughly how much it is after taxes. Any outstanding debts you could pay off such as loans/credit cards etc? That would be my first concern :)

Sorry to hear about your grandmother. Its always a difficult time when a family member passes so my condolences.

I would suggest just putting it into a ISA for a while until you can figure out what your long term plan is.
Not sure how old you are or how much it is but a long term savings plan for when you retire is not a bad idea.

Also talk with your bank/professional investor about what they can do with your money they could give you a few ideas, although make sure to double check it is what you want.

Hope you have a merry Christmas also.

Meh he's wants to make the most of a gift from a deceased relative. Getting help isn't tasteless.

It not like he appears happy about it now does he. I'm sure he'd prefere his grandmother to some cash.

Do what your dear Grandma (RIP) would've wanted you to do with it, blow the lot on hookers and coke.

She gave me some before she passed and wanted me to do something which would help my family, so we're looking at getting a new car - THIS is what she would have wanted me to do.

There is still some in the pipeline but it could be some time yet before I actually get it, we're looking at £15k, so I've been told at this point, it may change.

For those commenting on it being tasteless, My nan was an amazing woman. She had a great life, did all she could for others and was selfless. She lost her daughter 7 years ago (My mother) and her husband 3 years ago and lived to the ripe old age of 94.

She'd suffered from a long stretch of strokes, blackouts but kept going. Even when they got worse, she still fought independence. The worst part of this is that she's the last remaining person on my mothers side, apart from us 6 kids. While we visited her at every opportunity, we could see her getting worse and she clearly was fed up - this was running on 6-10 months.

Tasteless - No! This is what she would have wanted!

I'm sure it is but it's respectful to wait at least more than 24 hours before working out what cool tech products you could buy. Just doesn't seem right. It's up to you but you posted asking for opinions so thats pretty much what you'll get.
