Too much misinformation from people re this monitor. I do find it hilarious that the same idiot has to return his defective Samsung whilst trolling this monitor for some unknown reason. Please see below picture. Completely happy with it. Certain trolls obviously have their eyes painted on.

Looks like some ever so slight bleed but not worth returning over. I doubt you could get better than that. Shame these aren't IPS 144/120Hz

@DJ Switch, i would be happy with that. I had an A00 one, but the backlight bleed was brutal so i sent it back.

Likewise, i don't understand the love for the samsung, people singing it's praises and then having to send it back due to dirt under panel, poor calibration, banding, clouding, leaning stand, ghosting etc. The u3415w was a great monitor and if i could get one with little or no bleed it would wipe the floor with the samsung

It's ridiculous that you need to accept playing a panel lottery on all of these large monitors just now for the prices that are being charged. I'm glad I got a good one but I still had to feel like I was gambling that amount of money in the hope of getting something that should be a given at that price point. Hopefully something arrives on the scene that is less of a gamble and that panel makers take note of the current issues and dissatisfaction amongst a large segment of their customers.

I got an A00 Revison and the backlight bleed wasn't great so when I seen there was a new revision I got Dell to send me a replacement but in my opinion the A01 Revision might have been slightly worse than the A00 panel. But strangely the colours looked better on the A01 panel.

Overall I just returned both of them and now I am back to square one. I thought to my self what is the point of paying £700 for a monitor if your not fully happy with it.

I'm afraid that's where I am with this. I want one of the new 34" curved monitors but I just cannot rationalise to myself spending that amount of money on something which may, or may not be "ok". I struggle to think of anything else we buy for that sort of money where we're expected to be fine with it coming with a bunch of problems under the guise of "thats not a problem because the manufacturer says it's only a bit faulty..."

To be honest aside from the BLB I loved the Dell the form factor is just right for myself. Just the BLB was putting a downer on things. The rest of the Widescreen curved monitors seem to have all the same issues which is a real shame. It looks like we might have to wait to the next generation of these monitors.

The only model that I haven't seen anything about is this new model from Philips. But I am unsure because I never really associated Philips with computer monitors but there 4k 40 Inch seems to be getting good reviews. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/news_archive/32.htm#philips_bdm3470up

So at the moment I am thinking about going down the 4k 32'/34inch monitor route.

Curved monitors has turned into the new 3D not fully effective but has worked wonder proving the placebo effect i would just go for a normal monitor that has a k screen that in any cast can be scaled to 1080 and have very sharp images

So you don't like your 34" curved monitor then? I love mine - it actually works really very well. Smaller monitors are just too small to benefit from a curved screen... 34" @3440 is where they truly shine.

It's become blatantly obvious that there's a price fixing cartel operating in the UK monitor market. All major UK retailers had the same promotion where they dropped it to to ~£650, all are now back above £700. Similar things happen all the time. The best thing is that the £650 is still £125 more than the mode price in Germany. This should be taken to the OFT. They're not even trying to hide the collusion.

Yep, clearly some sort of cartell. That's why the threads keeping getting closed and posts deleted.

Has anyone else got an A01 revision that can comment on any backlight bleed? There were suggestions that it was fixed/improved from A00 to A01 but I haven't seen many comments yet from A01 owners.

My review sample is A01 and has a fair bit of bleed.
