I could not live with that.
Really? Doesn't look too bad to me. You wouldn't be able to notice it in normal conditions anyway - I mean - who watches a pitch black movie/plays a pitch black game in the dark anyhow?
I honestly think some people make to much of a fuss over the BLB issue and go out of thier way to find a problem they wuoldn't even be aware of if they hadn't read about it on the internet.

Personally think this is a brilliant monitor and even despite today's offer really happy I paid full OCUK price for it a few weeks back.
Just puts watching films into another league, and even the speakers are pretty good (and Im even moving from a 30" dell from a few years back)
Only thing Im really finding frustrating is that when I first installed it Windows 8.1 would happily switch between monitor speakers (monitor connected via mini dp) and motherboard audio so I could use headphones at night - but this no longer works (speakers stop working but no audio is present anywhere when I change active audio device)
back on topic, review of the Dell U3415W here for those interested: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u3415w.htm
Think I spot an oversight, did you miss out testing lag / signal processing in gaming mode?
if compere with Samsung 34 dells speakers disappointing, Samsung have nice sound stereo and feel some bass.

Yes it was tested but didn't bother mentioning it as it makes no difference as PCM2 says. Game mode hasn't done anything like that for quite a while on UltraSharp screens
Then why option there?
Why is there a 'Movie' mode? And a 'Multimedia' setting? They're just presets which alter the image balance (including white point, saturation levels and gamma). You don't need to use them and they don't give any actual advantage in said applications if you do. In fact they simply upset the image. Although Dell aren't guilty of this, some manufacturers include 'Game Modes' for marketing reasons - even if they are very poor (*cough* Samsung *cough*). These are monitors and not TVs, they don't typically have their responsiveness characteristics allied with the preset mode.
