So I installed my swanky new SSD and a fresh windows install to it. I formatted the major partition on the old HDD but it still has 2 smaller partitions on. One is a Recovery partition and one is, i think, a system partition.

When i boot the PC it asks me to choose a boot volume, which i suspect is because theres still system files on the HDD.

Disk Manager doesn't let me delete or format those partitions though.

Am i missing something glaringly obvious? I dont want the Choose Boot Volume menu to show really.

Thanks!

Use diskpart to remove those remaining partitions. Google will help you with the commands, they're basic and there's only a few you need.

The boot loader is on the SSD, right?

Did you remove the HDD when you did the Windows install?

I did not, no. It was hard to get to!

Is it rectifiable with Webzta's suggestion? Edit? No, it's not. Diskpart wont affect those partitions either.
