Hi,

Apologies in advance if I'm just being stupid. I ordered a new 2TB Seagate Firecuda SSHD to replace an old 320GB Seagate Baracuda. I expected just to unplug the old HDD and plug in the new SSHD power and data connectors and it all to work but when I re-boot and look on my PC the new SSHD is not recognised. When I check in BIOS it shows?

Thanks,

It'll need at least one partition and that'll need to be formatted. Use Windows Disk Management.

Depending on your situation you may be better off cloning the old drive onto the new one. For that use a tool such as Macrium Reflect.

How many hard drives do you have?

Is the 320GB your main hard drive with Windows on it?

SSHD is not recognised where..?

If it's not your main drive, you need to go into Disk Management in Windows, then Initialise and Format the drive.
