Installing Additional SSD & Moving Windows 10

Hi All, I've purchased a SSD which I want to put into my PC. I currently have a HDD which has Windows 10 installed onto it however I want to move everything from the HDD to the SDD.

I've read a few articles about creating a system image and moving it onto a USB or external HDD however when trying this I keep getting a message stating that it's not a valid destination.

Seeing as I'm not actually removing the current HDD, is there a simpler way of moving the OS and relevant files?

Thanks

Macrium reflect free, clone HDD, set boot in BIOS to ssd

Hi, Thanks for this it worked a treat. In fact it worked too well and has cloned it exactly. The slight problem I have is it's left 1.6+ TB of the new SSD unallocated. Should I run it again and simply increase the size or is it safe initialising and just adding another volume?

Just go into disk management and extend the partition.

I've gone into disk management however everything except shrink is greyed out.
Got a screenshot? Is there a partition after the main one?

If it's like this then reclone the drive, and this time, drag the main partition to the end so it's the last partition. You then should be able to extend it.

Yeah was like what you posted and just re-cloned and did what you suggested, which worked perfectly. Thanks for your help.
