Hey guys just fitted my SSD and the device shows up in device manager as working properly, but shouldn't it also appear in "Computer" with my HDD?

Many thanks.

Is it a brand new unformatted SSD?

You need to go into Disk Management (Right click Computer, select Manage and then select Disk Management), right click on the unallocated space and create a simple volume.

Aren't you installing the OS onto the SSD?

Thanks. I just want it for games not fussed about windows loading 2 seconds faster!
Trying to install games to it and I'm getting "You are not allowed to install to the root os a system drive. Please change the destination path."

What's up with that

Try creating a folder called "Games", or whatever, on the drive and see if you can install into that.

You'll need to change the path of the program installer to tell it where you want it installing.

It will normally default to your system C Drive.
