Woo yes, it finaly came out in the UK, and thankfully it was delivered without a hitch by Royal Mail, no real point to this thread other than to express how excited I am right now, and to wish everyone else who has ordered the hard copy to have a great day as well!

Just wondering however while they update... I dont have gifts for HL2 or Episode 1 to give away, though I have owned them since release....
 
bought it on steam a week before release, completed EP2 day of release, and portal the next, tf2 is only thing i play in it now
 
think im going to go to shops and buy this now :)

Damn hsbc and their not sending me my credit card :mad:

How do I get Orange Box gifts to give away?
If you own either or both "Half-Life 2" and "Half-Life 2: Episode One" and then install The Orange Box using the Steam account that contains those games, you will automatically receive Orange Box gifts you can give to friends. You can receive Orange Box gifts by purchasing The Orange Box on Steam or at any retailer.

Should be retail as well - though don't know how you get it to recognise you are entitled to the gifts.
 
so just to make sure i don't waste the bus fare this should be out in the shops now?

Loving EP2, not tried Portal yet but was disappointed with TF2, maybe its cos ive got the UT3 demo now n it seems turd in comparison but after reading everyone raving about it i can say i was disappointed when playing it last night
 
Received mine this morning, just finished a session of TF2.

I'm happy with the Orange Box, except for one tiny little thing... why did they choose a single disc case when there are 2 discs? Afterall, there are a few 2 disc cases of a similar size, so why not choose one of those instead.

I know I would have appreciated it, rather than the cheapo paper holder that you usually get with freebies or contain the drivers disc when buying hardware.

Once you have installed The Orange Box games, restart steam and go to your games list. Next to HL2 & Episode 1 there should be a "1 Gift" link. Click that and you give them away like that.

This is available for ALL Orange Box owners whether retail or steam so long as you registered the new games to the same account as the old ones.

I'm the other way round. i find UT3 dull in comparison to TF2 which feels so fresh.
 
Anyone fancy a game of TF2 tonight? I have no reason to get up tomorow, and im getting some food now so taking a break from HL2 for a bit :)
 
Well it's installed but I cannot play yet..

... becuase its DOWNLOADING UPDATES.

Downloading updates? For a retail product on RELEASE DAY?

Unacceptable Valve.
