Installing The Orange Box!!!

IM going to buy it Sunday:D:D. Have even ordered new 22" Screen (of here delivered tomorrow) just for this woohoooooooooo. Wife now becomes TF2 widow

Its not release day though is it. Release day was the 11th when it came out on steam, and when us hardcore fans got it given to us ;)

TF2 has been available to play for almost a month.
 
I ordered mine from a place in Asia, estimated delivery is start of November, not too fussed though as I'm fairly busy over the next week or two. Can't wait to catch up on some online TF2!

Nothing new there. In fact I've seen quite a few games patched BEFORE release day.

Also they could be 'doing a bioshock' and trying to combat piracy by leaving an important bit of code out i.e. forcing you to update the game before playing.

Given the choice between having a patch available on release day, or a game which has huge unpatched flaws lying unfixed for months I know which I'd prefer. First thing I do after installing any game (well, during install usually!) is check for any available updates anyway.
 
Just completed Portal and completed EP2 a few days ago. Both really good games if a bit short. I think Portal had to be my favorite, i hope theres a second offering with EP3.

Cuz it's a helluva lot cheaper.

I got mine for £16 from Thailand through the major online auction site and I asked the seller to give me the registration code first before he send the disc out. I don't care if the disk doesn't make it here.

I love portal. Whoever designed the game are genius. The computer voice is just hillarious. If you pay attention it's actually somehow linked to the main HL storyline.

bought retail yesterday, completed portal last night, ace game, the voice has a sense of humour which made me laugh a few times, all round fun game, and just playing through ep1 now, great so far, only hope it doesnt end any time soon :) great value from valve, tf2 and peggle (surprisingly) are lots of fun too.
 
Anyone have any idea what I cant hear a computer voice untill the ending song? Have to use subtitles.... which as I had not realise there was a need for untill the end I missed the story...

In one of the portal threads on this forum there is a way to fix that, but I can't remember what you need to search for - other than that it is a known issue.

The fix is to change the spoken language in the game options to something other than english. Then quit, and the game should update from around 77% again.
