Installing windows 7 on SSD

Hello chaps,

The components for my new pc have arrived today and so I will be building it this evening. Being new to the world of SSDs how simple is the windows installation process?

From what I have read, is it a case of setting SATA mode in BIOS to AHCI and only having the SSD connected when installing windows?

Also, when it comes to updating the firmware, can this be done once windows has been installed or will this process wipe the drive clean?

Any help will be appreciated

your correct,thats how to install

as for firmware they usually come with the latest version,if its crucial m4 then you can update it via windows,other drives you usually have to update it plugged into another pc with the os running on a seperate drive

It is a crucial m4 so by up installing and running the update utility, it should update problem free?? happy days

yes you can just install windows and update firmware if needed from there
