Any recommendations for a good instant coffee? Have been drinking Nescafé Gold at work for a long time but sure there's better out there. Not a big fan of the Kenco Milicano. Have tried the Nescafé Azera was quite nice, prefer something smooth. Any thoughts?

Have you tried those individual filter coffee pots ?

A one -shot deal. Place the pot over the cup, add hot water and wait a mo..Bingo. A proper cup of coffee in an instant.

Hmm I'll look into this, although I suspect will be considerably more expensive..

How about something slightly off-tangent and and getting a cafetiere? You can grab a "3 cup" 330ml travel one for about £5 (most actual coffee cups are about 350ml I believe) then there's tonnes of pre-ground coffees you could use.

I do quite like Douwe Egberts Gold also though. Steer clear of the red "classic roast" one though, it's horrid :(.

edit: This cafeterie mug looks rather awesome :D:

I use Douwe Egberts Dark, after having tried a lot of different instants.

I've never found an instant which tastes anything other than totally disgusting when drunk black, but with milk the Dark Egberts is pretty decent.

I use Douwe Egberts gold, but coming a close second second is Carte Noire absolut, the one in the black jar, very very nice for instant coffee

I've been fairly impressed with Percol's instant coffees. Had their Italiano and Americano recently.

I think wholebean instants are basically all crap. They just take instant coffee and add grit.

I don't really do black instant coffee. Just not found one that's satisfactory but have found quite a few to be acceptable with Milk.

CafeDirect Instant is really rough - even with milk.
