Been looking at loads of sites and every time I see a good quote I then find that, that company is then using someone else. Very confusing

And when I find a quote I like the reviews for them are terrible, not sure if the usual issue of the only reviews are from people who have issues.

Anyone make any recommendations on a good company for a brand new rider

Although not an insurer (they are brokers), Swinton are pretty good good at finding good deals for new riders.

£705 aint bad i suppose when your first starting out,its always gonna be high, few years under your belt and it will drop,i pay £150 now

Age bike location all changes insurance price, when i first started riding at 16 almost 2 years ago, my insurance was £350 third party only on an Aprilia RS50. MCE i believe

What bike you trying to insure, how old are you etc? I know there are many factors which affect insurance costs, but just curious.

2011 CBF125

31, 9+ years NCB on my car (not sure if that makes a difference)

As far as I'm aware you can't use your car NCB on a 'bike policy. They're kept separate.

700 quid for a 125 at your age, even as a new rider is excessive - do you live in Kabul?

I think I was paying about £350 for my first 'bike, and that was a 600. I was older than 31 though. :o

sorry i didnt realise you age, thats very expensive imo £700,i have 9+ years ncb but on a motorbike and 34yr old £150 on a zx10 04,keep shopping around you should get it lower

I'm currently with Bikesure.

When I had my CBF125 a few days after taking my CBT, insurance was under £150fc for me (29 at the time). That was with eBike I think.

Bikesure is one of the lower quotes, but they get bad reviews, but it might be the usual stuff of users only ever complain

I've been with them just over a year now and they've generally been ok with the 3 bikes I've added/removed/modded etc. I've never had to make a claim though, which is normally when issues can occur and bad reviews are written.

what i found was that 125's for younger riders are almost as expensive as doing a full test and getting a 600.

rs4 125 £800/year with CBT

Ducati monster 696+ with full licence £880

i'm 25 and live in the south.

I pay, £300 for my premium (fully comp) with Bennets, works out at £350 all in with extras and what not. Thats on a YBR125. Still on CBT, been lazy and not got around to doing my full test yet lol. Iv used them for the past 2 years since iv had the bike from new, first year was £350 all in, 2nd year was £300 all in, its gone up again this year, but thats the same for all insurance though.

Im 31 and am in yorkshire if thats any help, as age and location as said earlier are factors.

Oh and just to let you know, most companies when it comes to insurance are not actually insuring you, there are not actually that many true insurance companies these days, most are agents/brokers. So that is why u are seeing a different name when you look deeper.

For example i deal with Bennets, but the true insurer for me is Equity Red Star. Hope this helps..

Yer Red Star was another name that came up, think I might just go for the best deal and not worry about the reviews.
