Insurance for a new rider

Not sure if you have tried, but give Devil Bike Insurance a ring (not online comparison), they are simply amazing and also they require £0 excess both voluntary and mandatory.

So if you have a prang, nothing comes out of your pocket!

I use H&R insurance Aberdeen, great phone support which is more than can be said for MCE, taken me days of to get through to them

Used H&R prior to Devil Bike, they were bloody superb! Was actually gutted when they stopped insuring my area (which I am still unsure about...).

They dealt with a theft of my old old bike VERY quickly and swiftly.

I don't rate Bennetts all. Not only are there issues with modications (see this thread), but I recently tried to add an extra bike to my policy and they refused even though my main bike is a Sprint and I wanted to add an H reg 350 XT worth no more than £500.

I won't bother insuring with them again.

As far as price comparison websites go, I like moneysupermarket.

My first bike I got insured through swinton for £255 for a 50cc when I was 16, they was good, but I never had a crash, then £245 for a 125 when I was 17, but they was only third party, fire and theft
