Insurance :O

Hmm that Boxster S quote is low. I am 26 with 6 years no claims, a limited millage policy on a 986 Boxster S and pay just shy of a grand.

What company is that with? Also noticed that the boxster he was looking at was a newer 987 which for me were coming out more expensive than 986 quotes...

whats the post code? I am also in a good postcode area, those quotes? Do they have some high voluntary excess?

Not only that but the majority of companies would not insure me on the Boxster S at 26, being a group 20 car they are not a insurance favourite. Would like more info on the quote so I can try the insurer.

at 24 i started driving at 20 I have a provisional, but had a car for 3 nearly 4 years i now pay £350 TPFT first year was £1500 second down to £900 3rd is when it dropped like a stone, but then i changed my job etc aswell.

Test next friday....will push it up to fully comp then and probably die with shock at the price they want me to pay :D

I'm 21 and pay £600 on my modified ZS, including some performance affecting mods.

It's about experience, not age - NCB has halved my insurance.

What's the first bit of your postcode, eg PR2?

Funnily enough I find some comp quotes not that much more than TPFT with more extras included. Do usually come with bigger excess though.

£3k for a 1.8 Zafira? thats mental, my first car was ~£800 for a 1.5 Proton Persona, that was for a disabled driver with 0 year NCD and 0 years driving living near Rhyl. Currently paying £680 for a 2.5 Toyota Supra twin turbo and I now have 4 years NCD and 4 years driving experience (im still disabled and living outside Rhyl).

owned?

690 for me with 10 years less ncb..

I suppose mine is around £700 if I take off the interest for paying in installments, protected no claims and hire car etc but I still cannot believe you would only pay £690. My postcode must be really bad.

Why do you pay extra for all that junk? I dont understand why people do this.

You don't need a hire car - if somebody crashes into you, you get one from the other persons insurer. If you crash, just ask the bodycentre nicely. I've never paid for hire car cover nor had it included yet when I had a fault claim I simply said to my local dealer 'You can repair the car if you can provide me with a car'.

So they gave me a brand new 3 Series for 2 months.

Don't pay for stuff you don't need.

if you want more consolation i pay £640 for a group 17 BMW 330i Sport, at 23, with a fault claim and only 1 years NCB. In an Oldham postcode. Can change this for a 335i for an extra £170. Shame the car change value isnt the same :p
