why is it guys get charged more, to start of with than women! out of all the people i know, the women are faster drivers than men! and had more accidents.

i'm not being sexist!! it's just how it has been with all my friends and family.
 
i'm getting charged 1300 for a year for a 1.2 clio 55 plate, i'm almost 21 and i wrote one car off, which wasn't even my fault! been driving since i was 17. but my mate (girl) wrote a car off last november and is 900 pounds for same policy but on a 1.4 polo 60 plate.

both with same company, fully comp, and she is younger and been driving for less years.
 
Statistically speaking, we destroy more cars in a truly comprehensive fashion than women do, and cost the insurance industry more.
 
Not about how many crashes as much as how much damage and cost we as men create.

I know as many women who have crashed easily, but men drive more miles and are more likely to cause damage when they do, less small shunts, more car write offs after driving too fast.

So the very foundation of insurer risk assessment (taking historical rock solid statistical data and blending/fine tuning it with forecast data) should be completely turned on it's head to suit you?

So you being more risk than a woman means you should pay the same?

They are giving the cheapest price they can for each person, hence age, job, gender all being taken into account.

They make the same ££ (amount or % I don't know) on every person, why should we pay less and women pay for us crashing more?
 
Because some males are prats and ruin it for everyone else.

I've seen some truly awful drivers including one today who pulled out in front of me making me slam on my breaks, but nothing you can do!:(
 
yeah i'm a safe driver. only reason i wrote my car off was because a deer ran into me.

although now we dont need to worry about it because the EU has made it that gender doesn't count now :D ace. although we will still be ball busted!!
 
Basically women crash into everything at low speed and cause little scrapes but never claim - this is good for insurers

Men drive better but are faster and when they crash they do it properly and completly destroy the car - this is bad for insurers

So men have to pay higher premiums

Simples ;)

well it has changed now :D well net December :P although Im skeptical that mens insurance will actually drop I suspect that womens will just go up!
 
Women also lie according to my dad, who the 6 accidents he's had caused by women said it wasn't their fault, and 2 even bare face lied on the insurance statements, meanwhile the 6 men who caused accidents with him held their hands up and admitted fault.

The selfish part of me welcomes the news.

The rational part of me screams in rage.

Because the fact is, male drivers do cost insurance companies more than female drivers. Preventing insurance companies from discriminating between sexes means that female drivers will end up subsidising male drivers. On what planet is that fair?
