Isn't Anynet+ just Samsung's name for their DLNA implementation, surely the Toshiba would've had it's own version?

I'm not saying you were wrong to insist on a Samsung, I'd never buy a Toshiba TV after past experience with them.

I think that's Allshare you are thinking of. Anynet+ is where you can use the TV remote to control other Samsung devices connected to the TV.
