Insuring an S2000

bell.co.uk
elephant.co.uk
admiral.co.uk

are all part of the admiral group, they give slightly different prices, as they supposedly cater for different sorts of people.

Just try all three and see which is best. They are usually my best quotes by miles.

Ok so done a quote on swiftcover, 600quid for an s2000, 10000 miles with commuting cover which is really really nice, however if i add an imaginary parter whos over 30 (mine is only 23!) it drops to £480! Jesus that is extremely cheap, is it worth adding a named driver who will never actually drive the car nor is my partner or play it safe and just take the quote for myself?

I also found s2000's were very expensive to insure, in most cases higher than a 996 carrerra...

Indeed, offset however by the fact that they are very cheap to buy in the first place. Great little sports car imo and worth the insurance premiums.

Do you/ did you have one?

Direct Line need you to be 25 or under they previously told me so that explains that, i'm going to try a few suggested... I'll have my 4th year NCB when I come to buy one anyway but the difference seems to be negligible.

crikey!

Indeed, had a 2005 model for a short period. Pretty much an impluse buy as i was offered one at a good price after testing one back to back with a fair bit of decent kit and finding that it actually held its own. Sold it shortly after mainly due to being offered an easy cash deal from a mate, but i also had mixed feelings about its lack of power. As a stepping stone towards more meaty stuff it works very very well though, definately worth at least a few months with one. :)

As bizarre as it may sound, if you want a very capable sports car (more so than the S2000) an early 996 C2 may be more attainable with regards to insurance.

Haha, I decided to see what Bell.co.uk would do for my MR2 as I'm up for renewing this month... Admiral and Confused were bringing out quotes as cheap as £1800... Bell.co.uk is £1200, and that includes DOC and windscreen!

I'm sorry for the mega thread revival but I found this thread whilst searching for information on S2000's (I WILL drive another car other than my 13 year old Vauxhall Corsa at some point in my life!!!). I have 3 points on my licence and so my insurance was horrible this year, but reading this thread made me heck out Bell.co.uk. You guys just saved me £80 AND I now have a hell of a lot more cover :)

Wow. Earlier on in the thread I was asking the same questions! Mine is 1300 fully comp by the way. That was when I was 23 with 4years nub.

I have been with bell for the last 2 and a bit years, however there quote for me this year was utter crap. When I phoned up to cancel they only knocked it down £100 which was still not even close to Elephant and Admiral.

OT: In my experience - Bell / Admiral / Elephant will all match each others prices if you can give them a quote number.
