Insuring an S2000

Include Diamond on that list as well, they are all part of the Admiral Group. I am with Diamond (despite being a man).

Diamond, Sheila's turn you down? :D

Flux halved every other quote I got on mine elsewhere. 23, 5yrs NCB, £500 with a 5k Limited Mileage, £600 unlimited. No price hike with new cat-back system on.

Ok so done a quote on swiftcover, 600quid for an s2000, 10000 miles with commuting cover which is really really nice, however if i add an imaginary parter whos over 30 (mine is only 23!) it drops to £480! Jesus that is extremely cheap, is it worth adding a named driver who will never actually drive the car nor is my partner or play it safe and just take the quote for myself?

yes add your mother if possible mines over 60 so brings it down a fair bit.

Indeed, having my dad on the insurance of the baby killer brings it down a couple of hundred. Adding my mum aswell brings it down 50 quid.

The thought of my little chinese mother driving an Evo has me in stitches :p

Saying that was bad enough letting my dad have a go the other day. I swear he decreased the clutch life by half in about 30 minutes :(

Which 9 out of 10 times won't give you the best quote you could have had by actually ringing around too.

Great for an indicator, not 100% to get you the best deal/value for money.

Ive got to admit Ive never been a fan of comparison sites and my best quotes have always been through admiral, bell & elephant. However last year going through confused.com got me a cheaper price through elephant then it was direct.

I dont think ive done too bad with my insurance with the s2k. 25 / 3NCB / good postcode area. £800, thats with 2 female named drivers on the policy too. Thats with Elephant

£9k for a 70k mile 02 plate sounds a little pricey. I bought a 69k 02 plate privately for £6750. You can just about get an AP2 S2000 for £9 - £9.5k if your willing for it to have a bit of mileage.

Give Chriss Knott a bell, also check out the owners club and ask there, im sure they will point you in the direction of a club friendly insurer.
