Intel 520 120gb ssd poor write speeds

leave them a while, log off user account and let it sit idle for a few hours for garbage collection to clean up the drive, and dont run loads of ssd benchmarks as it can degrade performance

Just installed ssd toolbox and i am geting this message now
The Intel SSD Toolbox cannot communicate with the selected Intel SSD.
Consider changing to another storage driver compatible with your system and try the tool again.
ive found this info can anyone shed any light on this thanks

ok i feel i am getting better performance out of the 510 than the 520...ive had for a few days...do i get a policy were i can send this drive back in any way ...thanks

Ring them this morning, they are open

Why do you 'feel' your 520 is slower than your 510?
Is it actually slower, or did you feel it should have become more blisteringly fast than it already was?
Most reviews seem to suggest imperceptable differences in all good modern ssds in normal usage nowadays anyway.

Did you do a full reinstall when moving to the 520? Is it possible that you haven't gave things a few days to settle into the superfetch and preload business?

Yes ive done a full install as ive said the other 2 drives work and bench mark ol
The 520 is slower especialy on write also on use its not as responsive as the other 2....
Ive used ssd for around 2 years now and this bu far the slowest in my experience.

Cant phone on the way to wembley to watch the fa cup rathe do it when im
At home... Ill use it and have anothet play with it over sunday monday thanks

Might help to zero the SSD several times. Im about to use a program that does this, as this setup is XP and it definitely needs it

You might just be experiencing the Duraclass effect on the Intel 520 SandForce controller (if it has this feature).

When too much data is written to a SandForce SSD in a fairly short time scale, e.g. Installing Windows, drivers, programs, running a benchmark or two. And you have since re-installed Windows adding to the GB being written to drive.

Link to topic on it at OCZ forums. Looks like you've "hammered" the SSD according to guide.

Disagree mate was like this from first install...of windows...and ran benchmark...done the exact same with my old intel 510 and the m4 and there performance are fine....if the performance was up there on the first test i would not have tried my other 2 and compare.
