INTEL BRING THE BIG GUNS!

If theyr're using thermal paste it doesn't really matter what cooling you throw at it the limitation is the transfer of heat between the die and the heatspreader.

7960x outperforms 1950x by 3% for 60% extra cost, what a bargain!

Not even that, there is nothing in it... even the £1,800 18 core is only 10% faster.

Very overpriced.

I've tried to find out whether or not these are indium, but will become known soon enough. After spending some time with the 7900X, temps become an issue as soon as you throw AVX workloads at it. It will vary from sample to sample, but thermals are definitely a concern when pressing on (1400mm+ rad space). Although, it's expected when pulling 300W+ through the die - and keeping in line with that thought, imagine how much current 16 to 18 cores will pull under the same workloads. Honestly, it might even be out of the question in tow with overclocking.

I'd go in open minded with two things - 1) Don't press on too much with AVX 2) Hopefully the temps are reduced in terms of the heat spreaders

They are paste.i delided them!!

The better the cooling the better the oc you can achieve. Even better water cool vrm too if your able. All improves the clocks.

Nda man. I can't discuss that at all.

Who would buy an X chip and not oc. Not many at all. If they want that they buy Xeon.

And..... We delid no problem!!!

Overclocking, Imc etc is strong.

Delidding £1800 cpus - bet that's fun!

Fair enough on my 4770k where if I messed it up no biggy, just buy another and try again, but buying another 7980X?

Who would buy an X chip and not oc.

Prob someone without thier own power station in thier back garden ;-)
