So what now?
Will they add physics (havok) instructions to their cpu's adversing their cpu's are best for gaming, or something?
Or intel chipsets with some kind of accel?
Or some kind of lame physics card ( don't fancy another extra part in my pc to pay for, one of my cpu cores is still idle in half the games I play... :( ) ?

wonder what this means, games to come using havok will be intel optimised. guess amd will have an even harder time to survive now with the gaming community.

That could be seen as monopolizing though. I'm sure something would get done about that (Well I hope at least). If there's no competition then it's a major step backwards. Maybe not right now but it would eventually happen :(.

Im not quite sure how I feel about this but I am quite intreagued as this could herald a new age for cpu's, as they seem to take control of more and more features, on dye of a pc its intresting to see the home computers take new paths no one forseen.
it will certainly be a blow to amd if intel made havok an on dye feature with games optamized to run on them but would also be a good place for amd to maybe plan a counter strategy. Fair enough amd havnt faired well against the c2d range loosing many many customers to the intel cpu but this is a delicate balance wich can be quite easily blown out of the water by a well performing cpu.
intel changed there architecture as far as i know AMD are yet to do so so the game is wide open and AMD arnt doing so bad in the bigger picture, so a counter mesure wouldnt be to far fetched.
the line from that song springs to mind "we are the angry mob, we wread the papers every day. We like who we like we hate who we hate but we are all so easily swayed"

Havok have really good marketing as many people believe what you say. But when you look at the facts Havok are tiny you only get a handful of Havok games a year. Something like 30 to 50 games a year.

the question is how many of those 30-50 are top titles.
if the majority of top titles use havok then its a pretty strong percentage to be in.

Actually it’s in the 100’s there have been more Ageia games out this year then Havok. But that’s not the point I would guess both Ageia and Havok together make up less then 11% of the market.

Alan Wake is going to be huge.

BioShock also uses Havok.

well then havok has a good foot hold then if they are finding there way into games with such good developing, they obviously value there effects in there games so if intel purchase the company that wouldnt change as i cant see intel buying this without a clear plan of action and some way of improoving the company, that or they see a massive boom coming.
