Intel CEO Brian Krzanich Resigns

The strife of Brian: Why doomed Intel boss's ex86 may not be the real reason for his hasty exit

Its a whole series of things but apparently its his public prognosis that Intel would be losing upto 20% market share to AMD in sever / data centre that in the end did it.

Its difficult for a CEO when pushed on the question of a resurgent competitor to not give an honest answer, for example AMD were push to predict the success of Llano APU's years ago, so they gave an answer, that answer turned to have over estimated the success in question, AMD were sued by those investors for 'Exaggerating the predicted success of Llano' personally i think if you push someone to make a prediction like that and then make your investment choices based on that prediction and it was wrong that is your bloody fault and yours only, i digress but you see my point? Brain was pushed on what AMD's resurgence meant for Intel and he gave the answer he believed was the most accurate, that answer has upset some but had he said what they wanted to hear, something along the lines of "oh AMD are not real thread to us at all" Intel would have been sued for underplaying AMD's threat.

Rock and a very hard place, i have some sympathy for him.

Most CEOs are like politicians in that they squirm out of answering questions that they'd prefer not to answer and that is considered normal.
So unless you feel compelled to answer in full due to legal requirements it’s wise to be careful what you say as the more you say the more you are exposed.
Politicians on the other hand should be required to answer in full as they are elected public officials.
