Apparently comes from a recent Dell conference

Shows that Intel plans to launch another skylake refresh at the end of 2019 with 10 core 14nm+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ chips

Q1' 20 consumer for Comet Lake damn... I thought the rumour was Q3 19, looks like I'll be grabbing a 9900K unless the upcoming Ryzen can match the Intel's single thread performance.

I think Intel are in a position where it just isn't worth throwing any more money after 10nm so most of their efforts will be a 14nm->7nm transition much delayed while 10nm sees relatively limited use.

They formally stated this week when they announced their quarterly results that Ice Lake-SP Xeons are due Q420 and ahead of their last estimate.
Everything has to be taken with a tonne of salt when talking about their 10nm processes but maybe they will finally release high power parts late next year.
Crazy how long they have been delayed

Same here except I’ve just ruled out 9900k and z390 for myself. Only reason is I want pci-e 4. So it’s either Ryzen 3000 or looks like I’ll have to wait for the end of the year

It's a repackaged 7900-X/9900X from the HEDT platform, you can tell as it has the same 19.25MB cache as the 9900X, and slightly higher power draw which is from the bumped clock speeds.

Well that's interesting because Skylake-X suffers far more from not having a Ring Bus than Ryzen in games.

12 Thread 4.6Ghz Skylake-X vs 12 thread 4.2Ghz Zen+

Yeah if this roadmap is true 10nm will be so late it will be obsolete before it even hits the market.

I thought intel 10nm is dead?

Intel is still throwing a lot of money at it the only significant change is that there is a focus on making sure designs are multi-node transferable between 14<>10<>7.

Probably someone has their wires crossed but I've heard that one of the fabs reportedly being prepared for 7nm has had Nikon EUV equipment installed and is going 10nm which doesn't make much sense compared to what is being talked about elsewhere (including Nikon getting out of EUV).

EDIT: Intel is also purposing 10nm for a range of other non-CPU stuff such as chipsets and FPGAs some of which are going to be moved from older nodes probably with 14nm facilities moved over once they can shift the load on them to other nodes.
