Even if they chuck 10nm away that won't have much impact on their 7 and 5nm development - obviously lessons learnt on 10nm can be valuable. 7nm was forked from 10nm years and years ago with Intel working with Nikon and ASML, etc. for EUV tech towards that end over 10 years ago.

Intel released new roadmap at 2019 Investor Meeting, they will launch 10nm Ice Lake for mobile first in June then ramp up 10nm for desktop Ice Lake-S for 2019 holiday season at end of 2019. 10nm+ in 2020 for Tiger Lake CPUs with integrated Intel Xe GPUs and then we will see 10nm++ CPUs in 2021 and Intel Xe GPUs for Datacenter will use 7nm first in 2021, 7nm CPUs probably at end of 2021 then 7nm+ in 2022 and 7nm++ in 2023.

Not surprised - if I were an investor,looking through those slides, I would find it difficult to believe that Intel can deliver anything anymore. I particularly liked the slide "relentless innovation continues" if I had to present that I would definelty be having a ring piece moment

Mobile, low power and server only between 2019 to the end of 2020, no desktop parts at all.
They were launched, launched via the back door
And didn't make it cleanly through the back door.
It’s laptop chips only
Not only that but it’s not a launch technically. Intel launch a couple 10nm laptop chips last year already - they were awful though
And there is no 10nm for desktop this year.
It’s 14nm++ 10 core for end of 2019 launch on desktop
Then 10nm XX core when yields and capacity are ready for desktop
