why is it ahead ? :confused:

because amd have cpus in consoles

they arent ahead they were just cheaper than intel were so amd got the cpu deals.

Is it just me or are the advances over the last year really becoming more and more negligible? I just don't see massive jump here like there used to be back in 2007/8.

This is probably the biggest jump in performance we'll have since 2008 (original I7's). 8 core, 12MB cache (or more?), further IPC increases etc.

I don't think DDR4 will be anything outside of better bench scores. DDR2 remained competitive for ages with entry level DDR3. Enthusiast DDR4 parts will not hit the market right away.

The consoles are in no way ahead, 8 Jaguar cores clocked at under 1.8GHz aren't anywhere close to quad core Haswell chips let alone Haswell-E.

I would like the see the igp removed from the high end parts so they can move the cores further apart to aid cooling.
