intel drivers TRIM support

i have read on intel site that there is a new intel rapid storage drivers http://downloadcenter.intel.com/detail_desc.aspx?agr=N&ProductID=&DwnldID=15251 , http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18859 and they support trim in windows 7. Since its been a while since i last checked , has anyone tried those and do they really support trim or should we stay with the MS default driver?

they do support trim yeah, and are generally better than the default ones

They still dont support TRIM to SSD's that are part of an array. They will, however pass through TRIM to a non-RAIDed SSD even if the controller is in RAID mode (i.e. you have 5 mechanical drives in raid 5 and a single SSD boot drive, the boot drive would get trimmed)

but they do support trim to ssd in AHCI mode right? i installed these drivers but i get this in device manager

shouldnt it say intel driver provider instead of MS?

I think you need to look at the controller section rather than the drive properties, have a look further down in device manager

Should be under ide ata / atapi controllers under one of those...

^ Exactly. Should look like something this with the driver version displayed.

TRIM works and performance is better than the MS drivers with the current RST.
