I think the biggest problem othre than the price will be AM4 boards and the Bristol Ridge/Zen CPU line up.
Agreed pricing is way to high, just wait for the 7700K £350 launch price. Bad times..
That there is the thing, if AMD get things right they will "fingers crossed" come with a knockout blow to Intel. cheaper motherboards, cheaper CPU's at comparable performance and the same/lower power usage for the lower prices and they will be on to a winner.
They just need to then convince people that the Ryzen is better than the i5/i7 at a consumer level.
Same price as 4c8t ryzen lol
The i7-6700K is actually cheaper in the UK then (ex VAT).The inflated price isn't really down to Intel, part of it is just this country.
Have a look at the 6700k on amazon.com for example.

The dollar amount hasn't changed.
The pound amount has because of our exchange rate.
It would be even cheaper for us.
It's more pounds than it is dollars comparing amazon.com to overclockers.
Yes but, sadly, OcUK is rarely among the cheapest available. Compare that Amazon.com price to the actual UK equivalent. US = $325 = £263. UK = £250 (ex VAT).
Just goes further in hand that it's not an Intel induced problem as regards pricing then![]()
It's the stagnation that has got most ppl irritated with Intel and which is an Intel induced issue. 4 cores releasing around the same price since Sandy. Tolerable, but when combined with GBP some customers less happy to let slide what is clear lack of progression.
It actually started with Lynnfield (seems to be easily forgotten these days). Sandy Bridge was a good improvement on Lynnfield, which is probably why most people forget about it, but Sandy Bridge was also more expensive. It's the stagnation that has got most ppl irritated with Intel and which is an Intel induced issue. 4 cores releasing around the same price since Sandy.
