Intel i9-9900KS : 5GHz All-core announced...

Yep the "new" 9900KS - "S" for "special" as thats what you would have to be to fall for this nonsense.
Why would i want a massively hot, overclocked (because thats what it is, a binned and overclocked chip) 8 thread (after mitigations) old bag of crap like this?

It’s a stop gap to get their name in front of people’s eyes before AMD’s announcement, we already know they don’t have an answer for Zen2 until Comet Lake at the end of the year.

Well winter is coming getting pretty chilly already. Comon amd get the tdp of your chips up we need some heat.

This is such a dud move by Intel

Like I mean a 5ghz 9900k would be fine, if they also announced they dropped the price by 50%

Nothing but a last ditch effort to bring anything they can out. It'll probably show as a 95W tdp because it's the same base clock as the 9900K and probably be a premium bin so be rare and expensive.

You nuts?
With that super high power consumption/heat output it's of course going to cost 50% more for doing double job as room heater.

I love that Forbes listed it as potential 'Ryzen killer' lol.

Wasn't it already being pushed to the max? Second.... AT WHAT COST????? I can only imagine this thing is gonna be insanely expensive.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool to see another faster chip about to be released... just very curious on the cost.
