Intel i9-9900KS : 5GHz All-core announced...

Looks like this was Intel's attempt at damage control after AMD dropped the killer blow with its keynote haha

This is what happened.

Intel knew what AMD was going to show
AMD showed a 3900x matching a stock 9900k in PUBG.

That’s the reason why Intel will now sell pre overclocked 9900k to keep its gaming crown.

But it would appear that even if Intel still has the gaming crown it’s going to single digit advantage and the 3900x has what the 9900k doesn’t - an extra 4 cores, 8 threads, massively more productivity and workload performance and more future proof.

Even if the 9900ks is 5% faster For games when you buy the new KS model, why wouldn’t you just get the 3900x

105 watt for the R9 v 200 for the 5ghz 9900 lol. Intel are done.

Well what AMD showed was stock for stock the 3900x matching the 9900k in gaming (one game only).
We'll have to see how they compare once overclocked - I suspect the Intel may sneak ahead, just and so some people may still buy it, but their market share is going to be much smaller now - the vast majority of people will grab the 3900x

Don't forget guys, Lisa announced the 3900x as part of the "Ryzen 9 Family". That says to me the 3900x is not the only Ryzen 9 that will be released...................................3950x in the future anyone ?

The 3950x could be a pre-overclocked 3900x, likely saving it for when Intel launches it's 10/12 core's in Q4.

I don't think for one min a 3950x will be pre-clocked, anyone running an X Ryzen will know when you leave PBO to do it's thing it clocks higher than a manual clock anyway.
No, i think a 3950x will just be higher binned chips with a much higher clockspeed.

Curious to see headroom on these. My 9900k does 5ghz all core at 1.26v in bios.

Unless the new Ryzen series has some really weird performance inconsistencies, I have no idea why one would get a 9900k at this point.

The rumors of a 10 core version are even more ridiculous given the heat and power draw of the 9900k. Maybe they’ll lower the clocks on the 10core to keep it in check.

I love that Forbes listed it as potential 'Ryzen killer' lol.

Wasn't it already being pushed to the max? Second.... AT WHAT COST????? I can only imagine this thing is gonna be insanely expensive.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's cool to see another faster chip about to be released... just very curious on the cost.

The i9-9900KS is clearly just a spoiler for Zen2. I wonder if Intel will go the extra step and release it for £500 and then drop the prices of their other CPUs? AMD need to be significantly better and/or much cheaper for the market to switch in significant numbers. Intel might just dodge the bullet.

The 9900 chips are a joke, so flawed and yet loads of gamers and noobs will flock to the new (S for well you know what) model because omg 5ghz..
Conveniently leaving out all its massive problems like power, heat, security, old platform and price.. but omg extra 3 fps.... iamawinner

Nieve as i said.

You're clearly a Troll...just looking at your posting History...

Have you used a 9900k? owned one? Clocked one?

I’m guessing not...the 9900k is a great chip and nearly all will do 5ghz all cores...basically destroying a 3800x...as I’m sure the benchmark was using a stock 9900k

Considering just £100 difference in price...the 9900ks should not automatically be overlooked...

The 9900KS will never be the same price as the 9900K.
