*** Intel Kaby Lake is HERE! ***

Silly prices,Roll on Ryzen...about time Intel got some competition.

I mean sure,I bet the intels will still perform better but i know id rather go Ryzen if its cheaper but still has decent performance.

Brexit to blame, UK economy to blame, Tory to blame!

What a load of rubbish. Stop blaming Brexit, Economy or the Tory. Blame Intel & OCUK for overpriced.

Get an education because your statement makes you look very dumb. Intels pricing has hardly changed and OcUK makes single digit margin on processors.

Are there any other mitx motherboards in the pipeline?
Mostly cause I don't want to buy Z170 when I can get Z270 for my 6600k...
The wife wants me to downsize so I aim to please! :D

Wanted a nice looking board for once and wanted to use a native m.2 drive instead of using an adapter.. wanted a new toy really.

All zen chips are OC unlocked, no charging £180 for unlocked dual cores from AMD.

Haha £180 for an unlocked dual core just shows how greedy things have gotten. This is not just the fault of the brexit people. In the reviews the British RRP of the 7700K is £290, so why are we seeing it priced at £350?

Ugh, can people stop going on about politics please. This is a thread for CPUs, not the long-term outlook of the UK.

Yeah it's pretty insane although i will be selling off my 4790k, memory and motherboard to offset some of the cost.

Now that's silly. Very very silly. If you had an i5, an older i7 or something weaker, then I might have understood the upgrade. But upgrading from Devil's Canyon is not worth it at all. The difference in performance just isn't there to warrant 4790k -> 7700K. Especially not with the cost. Price-to-performance wise you're still paying hundreds for a few percent better performance.

Unlike GPUs, CPUs aren't worth upgrading all too often for various factors. For the regular sensible person, especially if they bought an i7, their CPU would last them at least 5 years. Even more-so when overclocked and invested in a good motherboard+RAM. I might have understood a tad if it was selling the 4790k for RyZen, but for the measly 5% over Skylake, which itself is a measly 5% over Devil's Canyon?

The world has turned upside-down. Then again... over in the GPU section we've had the likes of 980 owners selling their 980s for 980tis. I sure hope such folks have good jobs to be able to afford all this. As far as I can tell, wages haven't changed enough to account for inflation and/or the current value of GBP.
