Let me start by saying I am running version 8.5 of the intel matrix storage manager.

A friend of mine said in the latest version he was able to modify his RAID 1 array size, so I thought I would check to see if I had the option on my version.

All I did was right click on my 640GB RAID 1 array, and select "modify" and had a look around, but didn't click on next or finish.

I then noticed that my two stand alone seagate 500GB drives are missing from My computer, and once I entered disk management I had 2 drives appear as "uninitalized".

What the hell?

Is there any reason why this would have happened though? I have got "GetDataBack for NTFS" from a few years ago when I accidently delete the wrong parition, so I will give that a go first as I had good results with it before.

No luck, it only finds a 40GB parition to recover. Probably my 2-3 year old windows partition. I need it to recover the 465GB single partition I had on each drive :(

In the end I had to use GetDataBack for NTFS to recover all my files, which like before has worked a treat. Wont be loading up the intel matrix storage console for a while thats for sure!

should all ways back up data before messing with stripe size or any thing thats going to be messing with the drives

what you posted should have not happened

what happened once you re initalized them was thay just reported as unformatted drives
