Hi Guys

Been out of the loop for a long time now and I'm having problems with my PC Link here

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?p=28751317#post28751317

Trying to fix this as cheap as I can. Should I stay with Intel or move over to AMD. I don't game and i am more into Video Editing. I would like to keep as much as my old stuff as I can from my old motherboard. What would you guys say my best options are. The AMD stuff seems a lot cheaper than the Intel stuff. Here is a list of what I have.

MSI HD 6850 1024MB GDDR5.
Samsung SSD 830 256GB
Corsair XMS3 16GB DDR3 PC3-12800C9
Corsair HX 620W

Thanks Guys
:)

for a budget build and for video editing I would look at at AMD
what would you're budget be?

a nice idea would be an FX-8350 and a good 990fx board

Hi

Trying to do this as cheap as i can and maybe use the graphics card and memory that i already have. As for price im not sure yet, maybe low end to middle of the road

Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 £142.99

FX-8 Eight Core 8350 £139.99

that would be my choice as this would let you use all youre current hardware. you could go for a cheaper board if you wanted

theres also this one which is still a good board.
Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X £81.95

you could also have a look in the members market and see if anyone has a cheap package.

just wish I could get a look for a gtx 970 in there but I cant get access yet

Would the Asrock 970 Extreme3 or the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X both allow me to use the current hardware i have ? And what about the CPU what should i be looking at

yes any of the above boards will let you use youre current hardware.

as I say for video editing I would consider the FX-8350 its 8 core and 4.0Ghz a core so will breeze through video editing.

you could save £20 and go for the FX-8320 its still 8 core but 3.5Ghz a core

Ive got the above package but was told my 8350 would be better for video editing due to the extra cores.

the 4690k is better for games though I must admit.

Thanks for all the help guys

Would the FX-8350 and say the Gigabyte 990XA-UD3 AMD 990X about £223. be better than say this deal about £246.https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...-4690k-bundle-12-pounds-saving-bu-006-gi.html

Ive got both set ups. I bought the 4690k bundle a few weeks back and I have an FX-8350 on a 990fx board. the 8350 is better at video editing than the 4690k but I would say the 4690k is better at games.

the 8350 has 8 cores where as the 4690k has 4 strong cores but no hyperthreading.

I currently have my 4690k running at 4.5Ghz and I'm happy with it for games. but for video editing I would use the 8350
