Intel price drop 21/22 July

maybe next week... well i can hope :D

Magic price, can't wait to see it in effect.

i see the E8400 is £115 already, i'm sure last time i saw that it was £160+ so good start to the price drop.

£115 for a E8500 and its bye bye E6600 for me!

Will the Q9450 really be reduced to $266 in a few days as waiting to get one but unsure when is the best time to do so.

No it won't, it is been dropped and not been made anymore-see chart. And those prices are wholesale for 1000 units, not what you will pay for them.

I reckon with the q9550 dropping to current price of Q9450 of around £206 and a q9400 been £176 they will sell the remaining stock of q9450 for between the two at maybe £191?

So for the extra £15 you might as buy a q9550 tbh.

if only i had access to MM, might email a mod, got it removed for something I have no clue about, even with +46 trust :/
Need to shift my Q6600 that peaks at 4.1ghz under water =[

Ive just shifted my e8400 on fleabay for £102 delivered (£94 after fees). Since I bought it for £123 when it came out, not too much of a hit and I got good use out of it. Q9450 should be a nice upgrade after I come back from holiday. Or is the q9400 replacing the q9450?

Why would you go q9450 as the q9550 is taking it's palce and will be the smae price? or are you thinking of picking it up 2nd hand.

The q9550 does look like a good cpu for the price. Hopefully should be around £180-£190.

Reason is that, I dont really care about overclocking it to the extreme. Im not sure how much more overclocking headroom the q9550 has over the q9450. People have been hitting 3.6-4ghz with the q9450. So bang for buck I think itll be better than the q9550. Also, yeh I dont mind going 2nd hand if its phased out. $316 vs $266.

It's replacing it. And while end of line I reckon the q9450 will only be £10-£15 less than a q9550 so you might as well pay the extra or get a second hand one.
