Ok so ive had the PC in my sig for a few months but only got around today to buying/trying to install a new cooler. Its an Akasa AK 965.

The problem is that i took out the stock cooler, though it was a small Cooler Master one instead of a stock intel.

I couldnt get the push pins to go in, but ive just noticed that there are little threaded screws in the 4 holes. - the Cooler Master had a screw in design as apposed to the push pin set up.

So basically i need to know if there is any way to get rid of them? did i take the original heatsink out wrong?

edit.

Those holes should be empty. I'd get a needle nose pliers and screw them out. Or maybe you have to take something off the underside of the mobo.

I know theyre meant to be empty :p a pity theyre not.

the mobos still in the case, so i can see if theres anything behind those screws.

Ill try to have a more serious attempt with those pliers :)

good thing i went to get some food. what a pain, really not in the mood at the moment. guess ill do it later sometime.

Thats one really stupid design, the cooler weighs nothing at all. damn you cooler masters! :D

thanks Philly :)

:) so how long will it take to take the mobo out and put it back?? the last time i put a mobo in/out was my the pc before this, and that was based on an AMD Athlon 2500+.... :D
