Intel® Core™ i3/i5 stuff up at OcUK Store

They will be offering these without the IGP, but later in the year, they obviously decided the IGP where more important to get to market first.

The Clarkedale has no integrated memory controller, it has been moved off onto the same chip as the IGP, which is integral to the CPU but not part of the same pices of silicon.

Ah i see thanks for clearing that up, well i know intel later in the year are moving everything down to 32nm, guess with all these reports flying about im getting my info mixed up lol.

Anywhos allways nice to see new tech coming in, prices could be abit better but its intel so was kinda expected lol.

Yes, the 4850 supports them but does not bitstream them to a receiver so the TrueHD/DTS-MA lights up instead of Multich (this on an Onkyo receiver). They have to be decoded by software which ends up being downsampled.

Only 5xxx series, Xonar/Auzentech HD Audio card and Clarkdale support bitstream of HD codecs.

Not so I'm afraid...

PowerDVD9, WINDVD & ffdshow now all fully support both Dolby True HD & DTS HD MA bitstreaming (not LPCM or downsampling, but proper bitstreaming).

All working perfectly here with my HD 5770 & Pioneer VSX-LX60 receiver (both PowerDVD 9 & Media Player Classic HC/ffdshow).

Waiting to hear back from DFI regarding compatibility. Should be OK, however, better safe than sorry.

I'm not sure it is going to be as striaght forward as that, I can see these on newer P55 boards support lists but not the older boards. I think Intel made a design change for P55 boards/chipset at some point which ensures clarkdale support, this seems to be supported on one of the roadmap slides.

the one on the bundle

using 1.375v

i havent had time to test it on my maximus III yet

will probably be able to fit a run in tomorrow

Don't forget to move that thread into the overclocking section :P

Intel Core i3 530
Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H
Corsair XMS3 4GB
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770
Corsair H50-1

Need to find myself £454.94. Hmmmm

Sort of disappointing then....sounds like the average clock is around the same as wolfies? How much more efficient are the clarkies clock for clock?
