Intel Rapid Storage manager (Intel Matrix Storage Manager) now supports Trim

Toolbox sees the RAID0 volume as 2 separate volumes (not as one large volume as it did with 8.9.0.1023), but both greyed out, however, when running as 2 separate SSDs in AHCI mode the same version of Toolbox sees them and TRIM can be run manually...I'll let someone else sort out the ins and outs of whether or not TRIM runs on a RAID0 volume with the v9.6.0.1014 drivers...
Automatic W7 trim will work in raid with these drivers, the toolbox won't.

If you already have Intel Matrix Storage Manager installed, do you have to uninstall it before you install this?

It you want to install the Intel Rapid software, then yes uninstall the Intel Maxtirx software first, this installation not only installs the Intel Rapid software, but also updates the drivers, or you could simply keep the Intel Matrix software and just update the drivers using the floppy installation download...

Seems it's all very confused atm. Some sites report that TRIM works on drives in an array backed up by what it says in the documentation that came with the driver and some say no it doe'snt work backed by what Intel had said in a pre-release statement.

It's as clear as mud to me!

I think what is written in the link of my last post is what actually is the case...

Ffs I wish I held onto my pair of Kingston 40GB drives now... Kingston replaced them with a single gen2 80GB drive instead. :(

::edit::

Ahhh, n/m, I now see that TRIM still isn't supported for RAID'ed drives. :)

Not a big point but there's no need to, it detects IMSM and uninstalls it as part of the IRSM install.

My take on this is if Your Intel controller is set for raid, Trim functionality can be passed through to any SSD hanging off that controller (not part of a raid array)

If anyone knows different please speak up !

I don't wanna sound too dumb but is this intended for Intel based SSD drives or can I use my OCZ Vertex Limited Edition 100GB SSD drive with this?
