Intel Recall

Is there any point in going to the hassle though?

My system is running pretty really well and the only changes I plan to make in the future is possibly s better graphics card and to maybe push the overclock a bit more. What exactly is the difference between the revision 2 and 3?

Cheers

Sorry to hijack the thread but I recently bought a bundle from overclockers that included a P8P67 PRO, how do I tell what revision it is?

Also with the Asus you can check which revision the board is by looking in the BIOS, it will show detected chipset stepping as B3.

In revision 2 you could get sata degradation if you used the sata 2 ports, sata 6 ports are unaffected. revision 3 fixes it, would get it replaced anyway since it will be easier to resell if its B3.

I wonder if ocuk will let me buy a revision 3 and then return my old board for a refund? Thiswould be far easier if its possible.

hmm, last week i got my mobo, nothing seems wrong with it at all, but should i ask for a rma to get a b3 board? or keep one i have?

sorry to hijack thread

also may i ask, which ports on my mobo is it that may have the issue, the two white ones or the 4 black ones?

thanks

The four black ones are those that you may have issue with if it is the GD55 board, which are the 3 Gb/sec ports.

The white ones which are sata 1 & 2 are 6 Gb/sec and are ok.

haha I certaintly did. I also had 2 numbers and the bonus ball on the lottery this week and another 2 numbers that were both only 1 number away so guess thats karma. The things I could have done with £100,000 :/
