purchased yesterday, arrived today. installed into usb external caddy, formatted it, ran intel migration software, rebooted and data transfer said succsefull. plugged into sata 6gb port, booted up up took ages before pc would recognize dam thing, eventually got it sorted but on 1st boot major fail, said all-sorts missing. shut pc down and removed cables and plugged raptor drive back in, poop has hit the fan, said something like no destination drive, WTF. put windows disk in to try repair which failed, tried system restore which failed saying something stopping restore process cant continue. shutdown n removed raptor and installed ssd again and ran clean install of win 7 hp 64, took allot longer to install than on normal drive, once on desktop started to install drivers, all ok accept for asus xonar keeps telling me to plug device in, its in, unplugged /plugged back in, stil same thing. shut down n removed cables and plugged raptor drive back in and chucked ghost recovery disk in and restored windows from yesterdays backup, asus audio card works a treat, so i thought ssd connect back up and run ghost recovery disk, PFT major BSOD on boot. what am i doing wrong.

its not 4k aligned

plug the raptor in alongside your ssd, then clone the raptor to the ssd, once done set ssd as first boot device

if its still saying 31k=bad then align it with a free alignment tool

http://www.ssdhdd.org/alignment/ssd-alignment-tool.html

or just do a clean install on your ssd and do a quick format when it says and select either auto or 4096k then it will be aligned correctly

after youve done all that look on asus website for your board and install the latest intel rst drivers it will further improve speed

hi, cheers for reply, just tried the clone with both drives plugged into mobo and set ssd as boot bust still BSOD, so removed raptor and did clean install to ssd after the format but for some reason drivers not liking to be installed, my asus audio card driver still having fit and also my Logitech driver for keyboard having a fit, been at this since 9am this morning. will check the align tool out, cheers, i followed the instructions on the link you gave me but i dont have the option to align

you might need to run the latest motherboard bios to support your ssd better, the reason its slow is cos its not 4k aligned properly

hi again, no matter what i do i cannot get the drive aligned, boot up takes between 40/50 seconds, that 10 seconds less than it boots with my raptor drive, even when i cloned to my 160gb laptop drive that's still 10/15 seconds slower than the SSD, i'm starting to think ive wasted my money to boot if lucky 20 seconds faster, looking into sending dam thing back
