Anyone has any idea when intel will release SSD products?

I am trying to decide wether I should buy an OCZ drive now or wait for intel.

cheers

Wait.

You will see the price of current gen SSD's dropping as they are basically rather poor. The intel offering is a vast, enormous, extremely significant improvement over the current tech.

I rea system d somewhere that the bottleneck in system performance is the HD speed.

And the SSD tend to go somewhat into resolving this issue, by providing faster data transmission and access.

However as someone already pointed out^ current gen SSD are on their way out so it's worth waiting around a while for cheaper offerings, faster access.

I actually won a SAmsung SSD 64gb at £186 after p&p, I don't know why I bid for it because I didn't really want it. But I saw buy-it-now auctions online for £300 and thought my tiny £200 bid will be outbid... unfortunately it didn't :(

So I'm going to email the seller and let him know that I do not want it any more... the good news is that sellers can no longer give a buyer -ve feedback tehehehe

Which is good for me, but sucks when I'm selling stuff cos I know any old turd could just be mean and leave -ve feedback with the full knowledge that I cannot do it back to him :(

You actually sound pleased with yourself? I hope someone does return you the favour when you sell something.

There is nothing more annoying than people bidding on items with no intension to buy.

Agreed, but people ARE allowed to change their mind . . . . .

When you are bidding on Ebay you are entering a legally binding agreement, so unless both parties agree to cancel the transaction he actually is not allowed to change his mind.

Don't waste peoples time if you don't have any intention of buying. As a regular Ebay seller I know how annoying it is.

Agreed, people stupid enough to bid on items when they don't actually want them deserve their hands cut off...

Regarding SSDs... Does anyone know if there are plans to release 1.8" flavours of upcoming SSD drives? We have a D430 here at work and the SSD in it is bobbins, it's never going to set the world alight performance wise but at the moment it is the bottleneck. Just hoping for an upgrade.

You mean like you! ;) :D

TBH, with an approach like that i hope he makes you buy it!

Intel will be releasing a 1.8" version of the upcoming 2.5" MLC drive. Same capacity and the same performance. They really will be a revolution for laptops and mobile devices that use a hard disk.

Blimey son, we are not in the 16th century here, no need for brutality :p
But i agree with you if you bid for an item, which in turn you win, then its tough luck if you change your mind son. Pay up.
