Hi i have a intel X25 40GB ssd installed on my laptop and have a problem when trying to run the Intel Toolbox optimizer.

When i try and run the program i get a error message saying:

Cannot run the Intel SSD optimizer on RAID configurations.

I dont get this as im not running raid and ive only got the 1 drive obviously in my laptop?

Has anyone had this issue and solved it?

HDD configured as RAID mode in BIOS? It's quite possible to have a single drive run in RAID mode - pointless but still possible. Any mention of RAID during POST?

Is the SSD highlighted blue in the Intel SSD Toolbox main screen? Does it display "RAID not supported" here or only when you run the Optimiser?

Same problem on my desktop PC.

I think your must have an ATI chipset. Apparently the Intel Optimizer doesn`t work with the ATI drivers.

Blue when i click Intel ssd management tools but when i click run it turns red.

Yes the SSD is highlighted in blue

Displays raid not supported when i click to run

Pretty sure the 5740G uses an Intel chipset as OP stated he's installed latest Intel drivers. Besides, it looks as if the Toolbox only takes the hump when the Optimiser is run.

I know for sure that the Intel Optimizer doesn`t work with the latest AMD AHCI drivers on my Gigabyte MB. Maybe AMD will fix the problem in a future updates, but until then Intell SSD Toolbox thinks that I have a RAID configuration.

I've got the same issue with my SB750 chipset, and have to use the Win7 AHCI drivers. :(

@kmufc77: can you list the drivers is use by (a) the SSD and (b) the SATA disk controller?

Intel 5 Series 4 port SATA AHCI Controller

Driver Provider: Intel

Driver Date: 27/04/2010

Driver Version 9.6.3.1001

SSD: INTEL SSDSA2M040G2GC

Driver Provider : Microsoft

Driver Date: 21/06/2006

Driver Version 6.1.7600.16385

@kmufc77: I'm at a loss right now.... I'd expect those drivers to work fine. :(

Edit: just had a chat with a mate who has a fair bit of experience. His suggestion is to try the latest certifed Intel drivers (9.6.0.xxxx) from Intel's support site.

@Dervious: Fortunately I'm able to use the MSAHCI driver without too much of a performance hit.
