nice... :D

nice price as well

give me the money so I can upgrade to i7 (means my SATA controller seems about had it)

Bit daft how the board doesn't have mounting for normal mainstream coolers.

whos going to want to use 1U xeon heatsinks on that badboy.

My old skulltrail took Xeons but had 775 cooler mountings.

check out this post below.

the top left corner shows two regular 1366 backplates :)

go ahead and use waterblocks and high end coolers for 1366

chances are you will need a star key to unlock the sockets

Just curious about the accessories:

Second one down on the left hand side - I take it that's the 4-way SLI connector?

I see the backplates in the pic above but in all pics ive seen of the mobo there are only Xeon mounting holes no holes for the above backplates.

Will have to see when the retail boards start appearing for reviews.

Edit - few pics from EVGA's own product pages. Cant see how without drilling the board the i7 coolers will fit.

look on youtube. some pretty comprehensive reviews their showing the backplates and holes in the mb etc

hmm on close inspection it seem like the holes are in the right place just a little small in diameter, but that could be the threaded receptacles on the Xeon backplate.

Anyone ever changed the backplate on a 1366 socket ?

Coolers will be the last of your worries, if you are going to overclock those CPU's and have 4 Fermi cards running at anything near full power you are going to need a *good* 1500W PSU, which is as big as you are going to get in one PSU.

There are only a few out there, Thermatake or Xigmatec (same PSU) or the Silverstone ST1500 are probably the only decent ones out there that are 1500W and 1600W Peak

I know, running just a single i7 at 3.8 and 4 Fermi's pulls just under 1000W from the wall socket, so assuming you overclock the Xeons, add another 230W for the second one and you are past a 1200W PSU already.

I've suggested OcUk get some 1500W PSU's and yes this is for pretty extreme circumstances to run everything at 100% but hey someones gonna do it :D

In the MM case? Nice. Dual PSU's would work of course, bit more work to synch them.

Another option would be something like the Toughpower Power Express 650W W0158RU
which is a VGA add on PSU.

Or this

problem - no : challenge - a little

that said i was only planning to run a maximum of 3 x sli 480s

Is there a problem using 2 PSUs in one system?

Of course not if you have a case that can take 2 PSU's those going for customizable MM cases are going to have the best luck with it. But if you are going for a P80 then you might have to look at a single 1500W.

But then again its only going to be relevant if you are going to be

a) Loading up with dual Hex core Xeons and 470/480 GTX GPU's
b) Overclocking both the CPU's and GPUs
c) Running both CPU's and all GPU's at max power for periods at a time.
