I can not see this posted in this forum.

IntelBurnTest is a CPU stress benchmark for testing stability of your x86/x64 processor
The new benchmark is said to be extremely processor intensive,
so much in fact that it can load your CPU 22'C more than the well known Prime95 benchmark?
Keep in mind to use this program at your own risk. :D

Does this stress your CPU anymore than Linpack or have they just made it prettier? I find Linpack/IBT is great for testing your OC, it find errors in 1 hr that Othos won't show in 8 hours!

TAT gets my CPU hotter then this program BUT TAT wont work in Win7
well I cant get it to work :(

I've seen that mentioned too. I can see how it's possible if the CPU gets VERY hot, but if you have enough cooling... I can't see it happening.

I'd also suggest it's not so relevant now that CPUs have active thermal protection (ie, they throttle then shut down) - as opposed to the old athlon chips that would happily melt themselves.

Anyone fancy giving it a go on a Phenom II of some description? I'm 50 miles from mine, or I'd give it a go.

Happy's right it's appeared a few times - read this thread - it alludes to the problem, especially in the last post.

You'll have to judge for yourself how damaging you think it is or isn't. But as Audigex mentioned if you have adequate cooling - it shouldn't, theoretically, be an issue. (But i know nothing if it goes t*ts up - blame Audigex ;))

Here is something funny LOL

at 4.2

prime95 bsods on me but LinX and intelburn Test dont so what could be the issue there ?
lol

If i run intel burn test aswell as linX for over 1 hour then i consider my system fully stable becuse no matter what i do the system wont crash

only Prime95 crashes it.
is that becuse im unstable though or becuse prime doesnt work correctly on i7s LOL
