Despite higher interest rates, everything was way cheaper and the economy was actually in good shape

Ironically the lower interest rates and easy credit has caused this Insane housing boom that is crippling the housing market (buying and renting), huge crash needs to happen sooner rather than later

Got the SMS from Nationwide seconds after the announcement, I'm sure they're not nearly as fast to increate their accounts interest rates.
I got an email from Halifax telling me on Monday!
Then an apology on Tuesday to say the rate has not changed, and finally the same email again today saying the rate has now gone up.

Aren't you off work claiming statutory sick pay because you took too many legal highs?

We got the email from Halifax on Tuesday. Then they said oops, sorry. Then they sent out a new email today after the announcement. Did make me chuckle

Perhaps add some balance to this with average house prices Vs median wages from 1979 alongside interest rates from 1979 until 2021 then a fair point can be argued.

Without those, your point is meaningless and should be regarded as such.

At least we won't have to worry about filling all those job vacancies, with business costs going up and people spending less due to cost of living we are going to see many businesses struggling to survive.
This couple with the increasing move towards more automation, driverless vehicles etc feels like we're going to end up with a universal income sooner rather than later!

If i was sober i would try and supply this info but its an interesting subject ,definitely average house price vs income would be one measure ,also a loaf of bread vs average wage ,ect ect

Homes under the hammer should be taken off the telly. Totally immoral program in this current climate.

Just a random musing of mine
I've always hated that programme. What chance would a young person or couple have against the sort of vultures that just grab the cheap houses to rent out.
