How is the quality on ITV HD if anyones actually seen it, wondering if its crap compared to say Sky sports hd like their normal is to other normal channels.

For me theres really only one broadcaster better than ITV for sports and thats Setanta, surely the FA should take how utterly turdtastic the commentators and quality of picture is.

Then again I have no clue why Setanta HD and ITV HD aren't available on sky, though the cynic in me thinks its Sky screwing them out of bandwidth or ludicrous prices to charge them. Surely though if Setanta film in HD, show it elsewhere they could charge more to let us see it here. I'd probo pay an extra £5 a month for Setanta HD package due to how crap the normal picture is.

For Saturday i'm thinking Uruguay vs Paraguay and Holland vs Scotland will be the best actual games. Far to many top vs bottom matchups that you'd expect not even the easy winners to remotely bother trying for.

I still don't get why there's even a need to have a round of fixtures this late on in the domestic season. Why on earth can't it wait until late May?

Somebody fairly big is going to come back crocked which is going to fudge some club ('s push for trophies), recent history says that 4 of them will be Arsenal players.

just hoping Ade gets reinjured in his Togo match and then we can force them to pay his ridiculous wages till he's fit, hopefully up till he's sold in the summer.

I do get why England are playing the first fixture because other teams are playing qualifiers so the premiership is basically unable to be played, but why aren't England playing to qualifiers? is there an odd number of teams in the group or something, if there is, why the heck would they do that.

Almost makes me think there should be a world cup and a world cup B, like a second league so they can reduce the qualifier numbers. Stick all the no hopes in the second cup, and then the winners and runners up get a move up to the qualifying group for the main cup , and the 2 worst losers in the main group move to the B version the next time around. yes arguably it screws the smaller countries out of some money from a few choice fixtures, frankly I don't care.

Did you compile this or do you want to credit someone?

If you did, good job.

Unfortunately it wasn't as simple as I thought it was going to be. Whenever I've created a thread like this, it's easy, go to the BBC Sports page and copy all the fixtures. But I noticed that they failed to include all the other World Cup qualifying matches like the South American, Asian and African ones. So I got those from the official Fifa pages. Took an hour but I was bored. :p

Like my sig Baz? ;)

Apparently, the rumour is that AC Milan want to pay £35m for him. Yes ****ing please. But somehow I don't think so. Unless Flamini's finally seen the error of his greedy ways and has chosen lots of "silent words" as his method of shifting some funds to us. Who knows.

No need for digging, you know what my memory is like :p

It was when Gerrard scored the 90th min equaliser vs West Ham in the cup final.

ITV HD is a 1080i picture and is of very good quality. However, recently they have been having problems with sound glitches (3 or 4 games) and so had to show an upscaled picture with no sound glitches for a couple of games (even this is so much better than the standard picture though). They managed to fix this for the last FA Cup game in HD and so I don't expect any problems from now on.

You can get ITV-HD on sky now with the new firmware sky have released. This has made ITV pretty angry since its supposed to be a freesat exclusive. just visit the digitalspy forums for further info.

Here's a flickr album by freesatHD which has both BBC HD and ITV HD screen grabs.

edit: ah of course, the liverpool madrid game was in hd with no problems as well

Heres a screen grab. Unofrtunately it doesn't seem to be at its original 1080 size. Flickr rules I'm guessing.

Liverpool Everton. I think this was the game where they switched to an upscaled image due to sound glitches. Image below is obviously HD though.
