International Friendlies/Euro 2020 Warm Ups ** spoilers ** [2nd - 9th June 2021]

No one there really with a performance to command a starting place or to be first in line to replace injured players. Almost like they know their form won't make any difference to whether they'll get picked.

At least it happened now so he can be fit for pre-season. I wish all Liverpool players would just retire from International duty. I swear we're cursed when it comes to players getting injured while playing for their country.

I cant remember an Int break we didnt get one tbh

Thigh injury. Are we thinking 3 weeks ish? If so pull him out. With Slabhead and Henderson, albeit Henderson is training etc it isnt worth the risk. Id be looking to bring in another midfielder personally, maybe Ward Prowse?

wasn't lingard involved in the goal?
Was a defender that played it through to Saka.

Saka did well tonight, seems most effective in a 433 though. Grealish looks good and is only restricted by teammates not being on his wavelength. Let's hope Watkins gets the nod if TAA is out...

I tuned in for the goal and that was it.

Ending up with 39% of the ball 77% pass accuracy and less shots on goal than Austria is not looking good.

Southgate is going to proper mess this up. Can't makes excuses as wasn't it something silly like 5 players were all in European finals this season?

Not that I could tell. It was Kane to Lingard, Lingard feeds it in, Grealish misses it, minor deflection possibly from a defender but not a major deviation, Saka effectively gets on the end of a ball that Lingard played in. Commentry says similar.

Not a major deviation? It came off the defender. It's clear as day. If he doesn't make that challenge it doesnt go to Saka.

Kneeling is showing support for BLM who are a political (Marxist) organisation.

Nobody had a problem with KickItOut which was purely about combating racism.

Not related to BLM at the moment, its racial equality/No room for Racism. Just racists gonna be racist/standard quality of the English fan.

Luckily it appears to be a minority of misguided morons. :)

There will be some people who boo it because they are racist ***** and others who boo it because its a pointless gesture that does nothing and means nothing and changes nothing and they are sick of the BS virtue signalling from corporations.

Its pretty telling that plenty of people will label anyone who doesn't agree with anything "positive" related to tackling racism as being racist. Thats the level of discourse and engagement that we are capable of now. If you aren't with me, you are against me.

Honestly I am sick of the kneeling before a game. Its a pointless 10s that we have forced the players to do so that we feel like we are doing something. I don't like the fact that anyone who doesn't do what they are told will be vilified and potentially punished. There have been plenty of black players who don't agree with it either.

Kneeling had an impact when they first started doing it last year but now I just see it as part of the normal kick off routine.

Players highlighting the abuse they receive is a good step forward, as are people being arrested and fined, but being racist currently appears to be in vogue and won't stop any time soon because racists don't care.

I must admit it seems a hollow and empty gesture now. When you get players who regularly get horrible abuse like Zaha standing up - because that is now the way to stand-out and get a talking point - what is the point? Is it actually achieving anything?

I'm not sure it ever had an impact honestly. The only thing that will change racists is consequences for their actions or more likely, just a slowly changing world that they have to either accept or get left behind.

I'm personally pretty convinced that we are very much less racist every year that goes by. Racism isn't in vogue at all, we are just seeing it reported and given prominence regardless of whether there is actual racism involved. I don't think many people get more racist over time, usually the opposite.

Part of the problem is that nowhere is actually giving us statistics on racist incidents. Things like booing last night will be attributed to racism, how much of the twitter abuse is just teenagers being edge and stupid, how much of it is people in countries where racism is completely acceptable. We live in a global society where someone in Mozambique can tweet someone in Sweden about the troubles in Israel.
