Internet Explorer 8 Beta 1

The domain highlighting is interesting - it was played with ages ago in Firefox and binned (mainly because everyone said they hated it), and IE8's doing exactly the same now...

I still fail to see the point of the domain highlighting...

when i was using IE8 . it crashed after i ended it and restarted it i got pop up box saying
restore session. like what firefox does..

Not bad, but far from being in a usable day-to-day state.

Youtube wouldn't work, even the forums didn't display properly.

It's nice to see Microsoft are coming along with this, but it's no more than a tech demo at this stage really.

Didn't really like the bar between the tabs & address bar really annoyed me so i've gone back to the clean IE7. Apart from that it worked fine for me.

It appears that around 95% of web sites don't work correctly. They've got a lot of work to do still :) As above this beta is really a tech demo. To be honest they would have done better releasing a standalone "IE8 renderer tester" (I know they have one as I saw it in a Channel9 video a while ago) rather than the full blown release.

now that you don't need to run windows update in a browser I never even use IE anymore except for the monthly Live Onecare security scanner so /me won't be trying this!

IE7 hasn't been out that long yet!

I agree with mrk though - I never use IE at all any more.

So I'm guessing you must both use Automatic Updates?

Nope Windows Update!
