Internet Explorer security alert

WOW, admitting to Flame Baiting and Trolling.

If you can't tell the difference between trolling and encouraging a healthy debate which is backed up by factual evidence rather than 'FF is tosh', I don't really think there's much hope of us getting any proof that IE is just as fast as Fx, do you?

I'm not a Firefox fanboy. I don't care whether people use Firefox, Opera, Safari or Chrome. I've used and been impressed with them all. All of them are fast, standards-compliant browsers.

In all fairness, the Firefox users do lurk ready for these kinds of threads.

My problem with it all is that the BBC seem to have blown it all out of proportion.

It only happens if you visit certain sites, and certain code gets run, and you have your PC set up in a certain way. It's no worse than any other IE (or FF/Chrome/Safari) bug.

This is not a IE v FF Debate Thread, get over it and move on. :)

I am running IE8 beta on Vista 64, am i at risk?......I would imagine that would be the case as Iam sure IE8 shares a lot if not all the code of IE7.
I actually like Opera....then there was netscape who got all gobbled up

Yep. The MS advisory says that IE8 beta2 is affected.

Argh.

I don't even use IE7 but I got the update anyway. It then prompts me to restart the computer for it to take effect.

Your a home user, there is no need for 24/7 and never rebooting (I have heard it all before so don't tell me it has to be). ;)

A reboot is good for a PC.

Be thankful MS are at least fixing an issue instead of ignoring it. :)
