Agreed. He got what he deserved.
Though I'm not entirely sure how they are going to enforce a 5 year ban on social sites...
That's not trolling, that's just sick
If you hurled abuse at a funeral or outside the grieving parents house you could be expected to be carted off by the police for public disorder offences, this is no different.

Do people troll funerals in reality?Has anyone protesting a funeral ever been given a custodial sentence?
ASS BURGERS
'The condition leaves the absence of theory of the mind, quintessentially the ability that makes us human.
'He just wasn't aware how horrible the effect was going to be on those who looked at what he had done.'

In the UK?I'd say Westboro Baptist Church and some Islamic groups at deceased servicemen's funerals were guilty of trolling funerals.

It was more than just offensive though. The devil's advocate would point out the absurdity of depriving a person of their liberty simply for saying things others find offensive.
yeh but he has aspergers
I know a good few people who do genuinely have aspergers and some of them do have problems with what is appropriate socially, etc. i.e. one I know gets a right thing about certain hair cuts and will pester people for months to get it changed going to great lengths including writing them long letters, etc. but I don't know a single one who actually intentionally and purposefully go out to cause offence to people (they aren't aware they are potentially causing a problem) whereas in the case reported here hes obviously going out of his way to intentionally be offensive and while its something that should be looked at in more detail professionally with this case while some aspects of it sound like aspergers most of it sounds like a vile and sick person + aspergers.
I don't know what's worse, someone loosing their liberties because they offended someone or what he said.
Some things should be handled by the law, I am not really sure if the law should govern what you say.

People are getting the issue mixed up with free speech. It's not about that, it's about a person intentionally causing psychological harm and misery to already vulnerable and innocent human beings, unprovoked.
How would you feel if I repeatedly threatened your family by saying, "I'm going to stab you all in your sleep, I'm going to follow your children to school and kidnap them, lols"? They are just 'words', too.
